Dashboard Anatomy 101

Learning to navigate your dashboard can take some time. There's a lot of information available about your lenses here! Below, we've split your basic dashboard into sections to make it easier to find things.

To get to your dashboard, log in to your Squidoo account. If you're not taken directly to it, click here.

#1 The Header

At the top of your dashboard you'll find some pretty important links. One of these on the top right is a link to SquidU, our learning center. If you need help, access the peer-driven forums and our FAQ page from the grey links in the upper right. The tabs across the left help you access other parts of your dashboard, including stats, SquidCasts, your personal information, and comments to moderate. Click on these and poke around to see what they do!

#2 Special Announcements

Most lensmasters love the big blue box, because it means payday! You'll find stats about your payouts and other special announcements here. (If you don't want to see your announcements anymore, feel free to close them using the link in the bottom right. But remember, this closes them forevah!)

#3 Special Tools and Services

The brains behind Squidoo never quit. They're always coming up with neat new front doors to add to our repertoire. This space reminds you to check out the latest and greatest addition to our line of special tools.

#4 What does it all mean, Basil?
Icons? Links? Arrows? Oh my. Click here to see what the popup window at this link will show you.

#5 Your Lenses Menu

This bar starts off your lenses menu. It does more than look nice - there are some secret functions you can use to manage your lenses! Clicking on any of the underlined links will change your list. You can view your lenses in forward and reverse alphabetical order by clicking on Lens Title, and view them similarly for number order by clicking on Rank, Star, Visits, $$, and Edited. (This is a great way to keep up with publishing lenses. Click Edited to see which are oldest, and throw in a few new ideas!)

#6 Lens Stats at a Glance

You're probably familiar with most of these items. From your dashboard you can easily view your lens (by clicking on the title), edit it, see the stats page, delete it (if you're sure!), send out a SquidCast, and get vitals about how it's performing. (PS - for you stats junkies, did you know you can visit SquidUtils.com and Squidaholic.com to learn WAY more than you really needed to know about your lenses??)

#7 Traffic Tips

What is a lens without traffic? Lonely! After you've built a lens, take a few minutes to go through this list. It will give you a head start to creating something awesome!

#8 Squid News

Each time you log in it's easy to see what news we have for you.

#9 Tip Top Tools

We have so many tools, we don't know where to put them all, so here are a few more. (BTW - did you know that Giant Squids have access to a tool where they can make their own custom lens template? Yeppers. Find out how to become a Giant Squid.)

#10 SquidStatus
