Yep, rules. Read 'em. Abide by 'em. Or your sea creature powers may be revoked. Temporarily, or for good.

1. New to the lounge? Get started here. Learn which category to post your note in, and create a forum signature.
2. Spam: just don't do it. Thou also shalt not fill the forums with multiple threads on the same topic or sockpuppet.
3. Thou shalt not flame, harass, denigrate, spam, malign, or otherwise finger-point and name-call at ANYONE. This one's a biggy. This too can get you banned.
4. Squidstaff love interacting with smart front-line people, so they stop by the forums from time to time to hear your ideas and share updates. However, this isn't the place to post bugs or solicit admin action. Please send those requests through our feedback link.
5. The SquidU forum is a place for users to interact, to share ideas and inspiration (and yes, gripes... maybe another lensmaster can help) and have fun with their lenses. Try searching for an answer or visiting The Answer Deck.

How does one qualify to be a Rocketmom?

Do you need to be invited based on your accomplishments or do you apply?

Re: How does one qualify to be a Rocketmom?

I was wondering the same thing. I tried searching for info, but all I got back was a link to a Ning Group which you have to be a member of the view, and lenses created by the "Rocketmoms". I think it was an invite thing for "moms"; my mother got an invite to join and was assigned a certain amount of days to make a certain amount of lenses on topics given to her by Squidoo HQ. My understanding was that only 100 Squid Moms got to become Rocketmoms. I didn't get any such invite but than again, I'm a single woman who's never made it a secret that though I wanted them, I can't have kids which is why I have 16 cats, so I don't technically qualify as a "Mom" either and thus wouldn't be eligable for an invite anyways sad . It seems the whole thing is kind of "hush-hush" like it's still beta testing for now, or something like that. I hoping HQ will announce more info and maybe open it up to more people as time goes by.

Re: How does one qualify to be a Rocketmom?

I feel unequipped to speak about RocketMoms only because I'm a very new RocketMom, but I kept checking this post hoping there would be an answer for you.  I didn't want you to think it was some sort of secret organization.  smile  It is a group organized by lensmaster BDKZ.  If you're interested in joining the next challenge, you can send the group leader a note from the RocketMoms HQ

And, EelKat, having just read one of your incredible lenses (which it now dawns on me I may not have commented on because I was still in the middle of it when I realized what time it was and raced off to bed - going back to check now), you'd make a wonderful member of RocketMoms as I believe you have at least a thing or two to teach the rest of us. I know I was entranced by your lens.  smile

Hope that helps a bit.

Re: How does one qualify to be a Rocketmom?

The only qualification is that you be a mom.

At the end of the last Rocketmom session, we were each given 5 invites to hand out to anyone we chose plus Bonnie could issue invites to moms who contacted her directly about joining.

There are loads of RM lenses that explain in detail what we're all about just do a search for RocketMom.

Nothing hush hush though the ning group is for members only.

I just read one of eelkats lenses as well and was deeply moved by her experience. BTW Erica, I took your advice about republishing my yogurt making lens and I'm glad I did. Feel much better about it now and it was blessed too!

I'd make a comment about why isn't the squid breast feeding, but.... well, it isn't a mammal is it.

Wishpearl, glad it worked out!  I know it's not the easiest solution, but I think you'll really be able to hook some visitors with that lens and the new URL.  I need to go back and visit, I believe.  smile

I was invited to be a Rocketmom, but had to decline because, alas, I'm a Dad.
