Re: Potential Giant Squid Challenge

I'm at 45 published today.  I don't have quite as much momentum as I did before, but I can still get one done each day.  I figure 10 more, then start polishing.

Good plan for everyone to follow Bee.

Polish, polish, and polish some more.

Re: Potential Giant Squid Challenge

See the one thing that worries me a bit is that mine will not be good enough.  I have 56 published and about 15 wip.  I'd have about 4 that should come out of wip even though some of them will always be wip in my eyes. I go down the list and then I find one that I plan on making separate lenses and then linking it to the main one.  I have quite a few lenses that are series based lenses that build off of another.  If I go the rate I am going as I try to spruce them up a bit, I am going to hit 100 or close to 100 by the end of the month.  I'm almost at 60.  I may be a bit hard on myself though.  I still try to keep improving on them.

Re: Potential Giant Squid Challenge

I think the best route for everyone to go would be, once you've hit the 50 mark, work on getting those into tip top shape.  Give them your best effort and then next month work on adding, or improving others.
I know it's a hard task, but it's well worth it!

Re: Potential Giant Squid Challenge

***Plod, plod, plod***     I'm up to 47 published this morning.

I'm doing recipe lensographies now.  Or Lens-dexes.  Yesterday was chicken.  Do you know how many chicken recipe lenses there are are on Squidoo???  And I'm sure I haven't found nearly all of them yet.

Today's Lens-dex is of my own recipe lenses.

Re: Potential Giant Squid Challenge

Hello Everyone,  What an awesome post! Congrats to everyone for such great progress and inspiration.

I'm getting in late because I didn't notice that this was also for Giant Squids working toward the 100 Club.  I wasn't sure I would be even close to qualify and then I had a surge of charity work ideas so now  I have 90 featured and 3 WIP as of this moment.  So here is the plan;

I have 10 days (I will dust off 4 existing lenses a day and build 1 extraordinary lens for charity).

In ten days I will have 40 dusted and 10 brand new super lenses.  Which I believe will give me 100 super lenses.

That is possible.  Finals are going to be a breeze next week since I got well ahead on my course project because of the storm coming this way.

That settles it...
I'm IN cool

Thanks for listening to my ramble.

GypsyOwl - cool - I have a 100 buddy!!!! Good Luck!

I had a crap-tastic week and fell way behind on my evil plans. Well, I've fallen behind on my whole life atm, but I'm getting down and dirty to catch up IRL this weekend and hopefully will work up some momentum with the spiffy dust next week at Squidoo. I'll come back tonight and take a peek at your lenses, I think there are a few that I've never read before, it will be so cool to see that 100 badge on your stuff!!

Thanks!  I'll take a look at yours as well.   Hope your weekend sends you JOY and energy.  (((( sending YOU Bright Blessings and LIGHT))))) big_smile

rms,
I'm checking in;

...with 93 published and 2 WIP (the newest 2  I published are not showing as featured yet but should be by tomorrow morning).
GIMP Templates - Free Downloads for GIMP - Tutorial Series Guide http://www.squidoo.com/gimptemplatedownloads (the free downloads will be there by tomorrow- still need to upload them online someplace so they can be downloaded - tech stuff I'm going to ask my son about).

10 Thoughts to Make Your Business Goals a Reality http://www.squidoo.com/gypsyowl_goals

I noticed I do not have any room on my lensography at the moment so I'll add them (and a few others I noticed are missing from it) as soon as I get back to my dashboard.  I need to add a few more modules to get them all on there in the right categories.

This is FUN!!
big_smile
Got me motivated to get out some work I had put on the back burner.  The screen shots for GIMP have been sitting in a file for over a month.  So it was way overdue to make the template lens.

Re: Potential Giant Squid Challenge

We have 57 featured lenses, all polished and ready to go and 4 WIP that I may or may not get to before the 30th.  We just got back from the all day Mizell's Butterfly and Hummingbird Extravaganza and are pooped.  We captured and banded 72 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds before it started pouring down rain at 2:30 p.m.  I got some great photos that will be added to the Mizell's lens and maybe to a new one I've been thinking about.  Tomorrow will be a rest day.  Isn't there a Potential Giant Squid chat scheduled on Sunday?

Re: Potential Giant Squid Challenge

Do all types of lenses count toward this Giant Squid contest?  I mean, the Squidwho, lyrics lenses, Monkeybrain, etc?  If so I may be able to get in on this round, if I can get them all up to speed.

Re: Potential Giant Squid Challenge

Oh shoot!  I kept trying to log on to SquidU Sunday afternoon and after dinner and it was not there.  I was so tired and frustrated that I forgot about the chat.  shoot, shoot, shoot!

I published # 58, but it's still in WIP.  I'm working on #59 and have polished and updated 3-4 others.

We banded hummers at our house this morning and caught 18 Ruby-throated's.  It is near the end of fall migration and these probably came from some of your yards in the far north.
