This is so frustrating.
Every month I am told that my refer-a-friend bonus (accrued 3 months ago now) will be paid next month...
I still haven't received it.
Repeated filings of "bug reports' to no avail (as usual).![]()
also we really need to be given itemized accounts of our affiliate sales earnings...or do I just not know where to find this?
My pay was almost $13 less than expected, and that's important as I have no other source of income right now besides my Squidoo and Zazzle earnings

How do you know for sure you're not getting all that you are supposed to be getting? I don't think I've gotten anything yet from the refer-a-friend program.
EDITED TO INCLUDE THIS:
I just checked out your Zazzle store and found some mighty interesting Keds sneakers ... I played around building a custom pair ... polka dot of course ... and think I might just have to get me a pair!
Keds Shoes -- build a pair

according to my LR (2 higher than 2000, 10-11 more above 10,000) the pay out is off, esp when you count the $9+ in affiliate sales which I reportedly received
my entire pay was just under $35, even less than last months, and I have much higher rankings now
the refer-a-friend money showed up in my dashboard 3 months ago but I have never received it, nor has the referred lensmaster... if you never get it, why do they still say you do?

Hi CrypticFragments,
I will look into the referral issue right away, and check our bug reporting system for anything you've sent in regarding the problem (and I'm really sorry we didn't respond sooner).
From now on (and including today's payout), Adsense and Glam revenue is distributed to lenses based on their average LensRank throughout the month. It's pretty difficult to calculate the exact number, though, because we have to compare the average LensRank to that of other lenses in order to get a perfectly ordered system.
The averaged LensRank system does a great job of ensuring that gaming and other anomalies have minimal effect on payouts, but unfortunately it makes it next to impossible to estimate your earnings ahead of time.
By "gaming", we mean people who show up on the last day of the month trying to boost their lensrank for one day, and getting an unfairly high share of the PayRank pool that way. Now we're paying out according to the average LensRank for the whole month, which is a much more accurate way of determining how well your lens did that month and how much it contributed to the AdSense and Glam pools.
Hope that makes sense.
Regards,
Gil

It makes sense, Gil, and thank you for your prompt reply.
My LR does not fluctuate very much over the course of the month so I can't see how that alone would account for a $30+ discrepancy.
I sincerely hope Squidoo is, or will, look into an itemized paycheck much like any job provides its employees to prevent future issues of this nature.

My biggest thanks to you for making it work this way. It has always been my concern about payouts being based on LR of the lens on the last day of the month.

Sorry if this is a silly question; I'm still a newbie round these here parts. ;D I joined on August 21st ... does that mean I'm not eligible for that month, as I only had a LensRank from the 22-31st? *bites nails in anticipation*

aquariann... any earnings your lenses generate for late August or September will not be paid out to you until October, if I'm remembering correctly
there is a 1 month lag for pay outs
best wishes

Yes, but how is LR calculated if you created a lens on, say 15th? Is it just '0' for 1-15 in the calculations?

If this was old fashioned averaging in math, you would add up the lens rank for each of the 15 days and divide it by 15, but I'm sure it's more complicated that that with algorithms and formulas and such.

talking about calculating the payout,
does the charity portion get taken out of the new amount, or does the previous amount get added to the new amount prior to the charity being taken out?
if the former--then something is wrong with my earnings-on two dollars of earnings--i had $.85 and $.55 on a twenty five percent charity payout.
if the latter--I am going to change my charity settings

Forget getting a top tier payout even for a lens that goes straight into the top 100 the dayafter being published and stays there for the rest of the month, even if it was published on the 1st of the month. The first day of publishing it wil have a lensrank well over the 600k mark, and even if it made it to the top spot it wouldn;t get a better average rank 20k.
Whilst I feel this is fair in comparison to the old system, where a lens could be just a couple of days old and get into a high payout tier. I can see some not liking this, but think of the long term, and if the lens is worthy it will earn money regularly in future, just maybe not the first month!

Now I was hoping I was going to get some money this month and I didn't get anything. I started here on July 13th and had published 3 lenses right away. Between then and August 15th, I had 21 lenses. I didn't keep track of my lense ratings until August 15th when I started categorizing them per tier. As of tonight I started a spreadsheet to keep track of each lense separately. Because I didn't keep track, I don't know if I was supposed to be getting any money or not. If I was supposed to, I think it was only based of of maybe a few lense but I am not sure. Now that I have the stats in place, since August and if I don't get any money next month, then I going to be questioning this because I've kept track of where my lenses have been and for the most part have been somewhat steady.
