*The Forum Rules.

Yep, rules. Read 'em. Abide by 'em. Or your sea creature powers may be revoked. Temporarily, or for good.

1. New to the lounge? Get started here. Learn which category to post your note in, and create a forum signature.
2. Spam: just don't do it. Thou also shalt not fill the forums with multiple threads on the same topic or sockpuppet.
3. Thou shalt not flame, harass, denigrate, spam, malign, or otherwise finger-point and name-call at ANYONE. This one's a biggy. This too can get you banned.
4. Squidstaff love interacting with smart front-line people, so they stop by the forums from time to time to hear your ideas and share updates. However, this isn't the place to post bugs or solicit admin action. Please send those requests through our feedback link.
5. The SquidU forum is a place for users to interact, to share ideas and inspiration (and yes, gripes... maybe another lensmaster can help) and have fun with their lenses. Try searching for an answer or visiting The Answer Deck.

Has your lens been locked?

Ouch.

We know it hurts not to have access to your lens.  Here's how to handle it:

1. If you think it was locked by mistake, submit a bug report.  If you haven't done anything wrong, no worries.  You could have tripped our spam trigger or someone may have flagged it for another reason.

2. All locked lenses are hand-reviewed.  If another lensmaster flags it, the SquidStaff will review it and you will receive a report when we are done.  If a SquidStaff locks it, that IS our review and final say.  If that's the case, you'll receive an email stating your lens is in violation of our TOS.

3. Do NOT post an inquiry here.  We are not responding to locked lens issues in the forum.  The emails explain why we lock lenses.

Why are we not responding to locked lenses issues here?

When lenses are locked and accounts deleted, we do it for a specific reason as it falls under our TOS.  Most of the time, if a user is unsure why, it's because we've deemed their lenses spam.  Harder to define, but still under our discretion.

Even so, as a lensmaster your account is your business.  And when it's something we're not happy with, we're not going to talk about your account in public.  We're praise-only in public.  Your peers and readers can give you public feedback on your public work.

Remember that you use Squidoo at your own risk.  You're responsible for everything you post.  So if we challenge your content as being spammy, it's out.  You're totally free to host your own content on your own, which we encourage if it may violate our TOS.

We're totally focused on people who want to be here, who want to create great lenses, and who want to play by our rules.  And our rules aren't for everyone, but we still think they're pretty great.

And in case you missed it in the email you received, the three most important criteria for having your locked lens reviewed are:

1. send your email to locked@squidoo.com.  Do not reply to the email you received.  We won't get it.

2. send the URL of the lens in your note

3. acknowledge you read the policies regarding lens content and use of Squidoo.  We can tell if you haven't.
