2. Spam: just don't do it. Thou also shalt not fill the forums with multiple threads on the same topic or sockpuppet.
3. Thou shalt not flame, harass, denigrate, spam, malign, or otherwise finger-point and name-call at ANYONE. This one's a biggy. This too can get you banned.
4. Squidstaff love interacting with smart front-line people, so they stop by the forums from time to time to hear your ideas and share updates. However, this isn't the place to post bugs or solicit admin action. Please send those requests through our feedback link.
5. The SquidU forum is a place for users to interact, to share ideas and inspiration (and yes, gripes... maybe another lensmaster can help) and have fun with their lenses. Try searching for an answer or visiting The Answer Deck.

Some answers about the Angels program

Angels and non-Angels alike have written in with a bunch of questions, so I'll answer them here for everyone.

You guys have all been busy! I'm really impressed.

1. First, Christene, way to go on the SquidAngels Group. Looks great. http://www.squidoo.com/groups/squidangels.

2. Yes, we're considering a way to let lensmasters know when their lenses have been blessed or dinged. Right now they don't know unless an Angel tells them. Angels are free to communicate that (or not) in whatever way is most comfortable for them.

3. Jack Lee, your post in the SquidAngels Group guestbook about Angels needing to organize and reach a consensus in order for blessings to work is, I'm afraid, not quite accurate. So I'd like to clear it up for everyone:

Every SquidAngel makes a difference. If one Angel blesses a lens, the lens gets a small boost. If several Angels bless it, the boost jumps to a new tier.  The idea is not to form a jury and drive a traditional consensus. That would be an entirely different program. Instead, the idea is to empower you as individuals. The Angels group is varied, by design, and I'm betting you'll each browse and bless (or ding) different lenses in a broad range of topics. Then, when diverse opinions from top lensmasters converge naturally in the same place, that's when something really special happens.

4. Nope, Angels are not required to give editorial reviews of lenses that are posted in the Angels forum. But if they'd like to, they can.

5. Nope, Angels won't ding lenses that are still under construction.

5.5 Nope, LensRank doesn't affect your Google traffic or other search engine results.

5.8975. Yep, Angels are allowed to bless a few (not all!) of their own lenses. Hey, they're working hard for everyone else, they deserve the same perk.

6. The coolest thing I've heard today is that Angels are doing so much more than blessing lenses... they're also adding those lenses to StumbleUpon, Delicious, rating them, etc.  Wow.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Re: Some answers about the Angels program

Thanks for clearing that up. One of my lenses that had been languishing for a while suddenly jumped in rank, and yes, it had been blessed. A pleasant surprise indeed! big_smile

Happy Weekend!

Bette

Megan,
Your correction on my miss-understanding is noted. I thought only a consensus among Angels will lead to a boost. So much the better -a boost for every blessing.

Re: Some answers about the Angels program

I'm very pleased to have so many caring lensmasters out  there looking around at what is fabulous!

We have oodles of talent- I see it all the time here, and this is such a powerful way to mitigate the 'not so nice' elements here.

Power to the people/angels!
