Welcome to "The Giant Squid Challenge", http://www.squidoo.com/giant-squid-challenge-june-2009 brought to you by your Giant Squid Organizers and Greeters.

We want you to succeed in your quest for Giant Squid and 100 Club status so the Giant Squid Greeters have put together a super-duper challenge to help motivate you toward your goal!

Here's how it works:

Join A Team: From April 20th to May 1st each Greeter will be recruiting Lensmasters for their "Team". Join a team by leaving an "I want to be on your Team" message in their Guestbook.

Here are the Teams:

Kab's Fab Squid Squad by kab http://www.squidoo.com/Squid-Squad

Rajays Rocking Squids by Rajays http://www.squidoo.com/rajays-rocking-squids

Willow's Wonder Squids by a_willow http://www.squidoo.com/willows-wonder-squids

Each one of the Greeters is a dedicated, generous, knowledgeable member of the Squidoo community. So if you are not sure which team to join just pick one, they will be happy to welcome you on their "Team".

Create New Lenses For Your Team: From May 1st to June 15th each NEW lens you create you will add to either the Giant Squid Plexo or the 100 Club Plexo that your Team Captain has set up on their lens. It's that simple!

What You Get: Whichever Greeter "Team" gets the most lenses added to their Plexo will win a special workshop chat with the Giant Squid Organizers and Greeters, a nice write up on this blog, big time bragging rights and more lenses towards the June 2009 deadline for Giant Squid and 100 Club status!

So are you ready? There are more detailed instructions and tips and tricks on the Greeter Team lenses so get ready, get set, GO TEAM!

Just came to wish us all (I'm going to Club 100 so I'm in all of this too - both ways! ) best of luck!

We have a competition here but I see this also as an opportunity to help each other with inputs, suggestion and second (3rd, 4th, etc) set of eyes!
And chance to get to know other lensmasters better and even make friends to someone new!

Great Idea - not sure if I'm ready for the June 09 push - have to go back and improve my old Lenses first! Hope this idea continues for the September 09 'class'.

SimeyC - even if you are not sure you will make it to 50, if you'd like to try you are welcome to join the Kab's Fab Squid Squad. Who knows...the team might just give you the inspiration to make it all the way!

This is a wonderful idea to get on board-with to help everyone get to Giant Squid!
Its a lot of work and dedication, but who says it can't be fun along the way?

What with being in two groups, this one and Roketmoms, making lenses, looks like I'm going to get the final 8 I need before June and then some.

Now - do I do my assignments for Rocketmom, or do I hold off for 2 weeks until 1 May.

Nothing gets me going like a little healthy competition (picture evil grin here). I've applied. (Wondering if working towards Giant Squid is an acceptable reason to request six weeks personal leave from full time job...)

Oo, I just got the word. Well, hmmm ... I'm working on lens #28 right now, and I've gots lots on the calendar for the next couple of months, what with technical team training for SAR and a vacation in the mix ... but, aw, heck, why not! I'm in.
