Squidoo will soon be changing the way they handle unclaimed earnings, so if you have had money sitting in your hopper for a while, now is a good time to change your settings and claim it.

To tell you the truth - most of the time it feels more like there's a hopper sitting in my money...it jumps out of my pockets so fast! ![]()

You know....I shook my hopper and heard my four pennies slosh around. AHA! (exclaiming to myself) Coffee! So, I grabbed my favorite chipped mug and emptied the contents of the hopper into the mug. I was gonna let my teeth catch the pennies. Gulp! YEEEECH! That wasn't coffee. Somebody upstairs let the tub run over again.
Oh well......I think there may be some coffee in here somewhere.

I had some money that should have been transferred to paypal but couldn't since I can't receive money on paypal being from Croatia (didn't know that at the time). That money is gone from my reserve hopper (I thought it was donated to charity already) - around 110$.
After I found out about paypal and Croatia, I changed my payment settings to keep it in hopper till I don't solve my problem some other way. Now money is there from November 2008 - January 2009.
What happens with people like me?

That really is a shame. Just recently PayPal wasn't giving people from Baltic countries (Lithuania, Latvia and Estionia) the option to accept money, but then they extended their list of countries to include us.
The only thing I can think of is letting someone else - someone you trust, obviously - receive the money for you, and then transfer it to you via some other payment system (MoneyBookers? AlertPay? Or maybe bank wire?).

Sorry that blog post link wasn't working for you. We're trying to figure out why it's glitched, and showing in some places but not others. We know money issues are important to you, and in our spirit of transparency, it's important to us! Thanks for reading the post and sending your unanswered questions to http://www.squidoo.com/pages/feedback.

LOL -- Me too.

Please disregard previous (now erased by me) question regarding payment in hopper. The issue has apparently been resolved since I posted the original confusion question. Thanks!

Sorry CCGAL, we really can't answer questions like that here. If you file a bug report the people who process payment can take a look. Thanks,

I just donated $150 to my local Y, am starting a fair trade business with a friend of mine in Uganda. I organize an African penpal program at my son's school and have several of my lenses donate to the African Way. I'm also a staunch democrat, "bleeding-heart liberal" who deeply believes in giving back. All the same, I've been checking in to Squidoo on a daily basis - what with the giant squid nominations coming up. Last month I made sure my paypal settings were correct, as my hopper was lately growing! I was so looking forward to see how much I made - an actual payday! I've put way too much time in to Squidoo this month, ignoring other things that maybe I shouldn't have. I'm sure it wouldn't have been alot of money, but I was curious..
How angry was I to find that my hopper was empty? I always read my emails from Squidoo, yet I didn't get one about this. I read enough to know that I had to have my paypal settings correct if I didn't want my royalties to go entirely to charity. I am participating in one of the Squidoo greeter teams for this whole giant squid thing. And I just felt like I was pick-pocketed.
I've been so enthusiastic about developing lenses. I had other ideas today for ones I'm working on. But as a matter of principal, I won't update them. I'm pretty angry. I think an email would've been nice. Or maybe a message on everyone's homepage BEFORE the fact? This just looks kind of shady.
How many Squidoo members are there and how many lenses? How many only have less than $10 or so in their hopper that they forgot about or haven't checked in a while? How much money was this in total? And - how much IS going to charity, less administrative costs. Sorry to be this cynical, but, as I said, I'm starting a fair-trade business and have to figure in some payment for myself in exchange for the time I put in. Some charity workers do a d*** fine job and are worth every penny for the results they achieve for their respective charities.
Why didn't Squidoo say the total amount that went in to the charity kitty from this move and how it will be distributed out? Come on.
The way this en masse donation was made was not very professional I think.
- UPDATE
Perhaps I should look with my eyes and not my mouth. I must commend the Squidteam for such a quick response and a respectable, trustworthy response. My faith is back in Squidoo!
BUT - I still think this probably added up to a lot of money and it would be a nice touch if we learned how much total and how it will be divided!

Kimberly- I just checked my paypal account and I have not received a payment since Nov 10 2009. I get a notice monthly from Squidoo
on what I earned but apparently it is not marking it to my paypal account.
Thanks for looking into it feb4

Hi Feb4, if you're having problems like this you can send in a bug report through our feedback page. (Sorry, I can't handle requests through the forum or to my personal email.) The first thing you can do is check your PayPal address on your My Profile tab, and our feedback form is available at http://www.squidoo.com/pages/feedback
Thanks!

Kimberly - I have a $6.(something) sitting in my hopper since 1st week of May and it was there yesterday, I was checking my dashboard right this morning and found out the my hopper goes down to $2.17, how could this be? I haven't receive any amount from squidoo yet this month. I am receiving my cash directly on my Paypal from squidoo. I am just wondering if I violated something causing the decrease of my reserve hopper funds. thanks!

oh by the way, I have set my cashout to $5.00

The payments haven't been made yet. Your hopper money went down because they're working on the problem. It's back to what it was last month.

Here's our latest announcement about May's payday, coming soon to a dashboard near you: http://blogs.squidoo.com/squidblog/2009 … ts-payday/

Hey Kim, thanks I got my payment today, but it goes down to $4.54 from $6.15 last 3 days. anyway, it's ok with me, it's a small amount, but I'm glad my hardwork payoffs. Maybe I need to work more on my lenses to make it better to earn even more. Thanks! Squidoo really rocks!

It may have. More info on why that is is in the blog post.

I am new here. Yet to receive my first payment coz of not reaching the threshold limit yet. Not here to complain or anything, but just hoping I don't have to go through all this headache of not receiving cash in my PayPal account! Quite anxious about the whole process coz I will be receiving payments through PayPal for the first time!
All fingers crossed.

Hi divacratus, don't worry Squidoo never fails to pay during payday. I remember my first ever payment, I almost forgot about my Squidoo, I thought I can never make money from my three lenses, but I was surprised one morning of January 2009 when I checked my inbox, I have a paypal notification telling me that Squidoo did actually sent me money. So, you'll be surprise too! just make more lenses to earn more. Just a reminder, set your Cash Payout Threshold to $1.00 to make sure you'll receive your payment on payday.
So, happy squidooing!!!
