Maybe I've been asleep at the wheel or maybe it's really new, but I just went to the "P" section to add a polaroid module and, whadya know, I found a photo gallery module! I used it for step-by-step instructions HERE. I love it! Just wish I would have taken more pictures. (Next time I will.)
Is it new or have I just been missing out?

What? Photo gallery? I'm off to have a look right now

I think Gil would have said if it's just a big Squids perk. Look in your module picker, under "P." It might be under the photos section now, but it wasn't when I checked a little bit ago.
Gil, thank you so much! It worked beautifully for me.
Go, me, for being in the right place at the right time for a change!

I tried it out in an unpublished test lens I have. Apparently the only way to see if it works as advertised is to publish the lens it's in.
I uploaded some pictures and entered short descriptions and set the rotation for 5 seconds. I thought once I hit SAVE I'd get to see the pictures rotate and read the descriptions. But all I saw was one of the photos large and centered with thumbnails of the others below it. I didn't see the descriptions at all.
I'm not doubting it works. I just wish I'd been able to see it in action without publishing the lens.

MobyD, it would be nice to see it before you publish. I'll give you a tip. Make sure the pictures you use are similar in size (height) because they show in the original size as they rotate through. I had one at 500 px and it was too big; changed it to 200 and it was fine. The different size pictures make the stuff below that module "jump around" on the page as the pictures rotate, which would be annoying if you're reading below that module. It does that a little bit on my example that I included above because one of my pictures is taller than the others.
By the way, I have a "sandbox" lens that I use to try new things like this so I can test them out without messing up a "good" lens that someone might be looking at. Maybe you need a sandbox to play in, too.

From what you've said, it looks like the pictures should be similar in height to avoid the jumping around. Width wouldn't matter too much as long as the pictures aren't too wide.
The sandbox lens is a good idea. Thanks!

What fun! I just added photos to http://www.squidoo.com/seabrook-island-vacations just to see what it would do. It took less than five mins to add the pics and republish and now the site seems more "active"! Love it! What a super module! Thank you Squidoo!

This was near the top for my secret module wish list; thank you SquidTeam! I love the clean and simple layout!
It would be even more awsomer if images would be auto resized within certain max width & height dimensions. The jumping is unpleasant.
Quirks: I tried adding several images at once, some of which were larger than 1MB. As a result, none of the images appeared and I had to repeat the process this time only including smaller file sizes.

Now you did it! I have to think of two more lens ideas so I can try the new module. If I can't do that, I'll just use it the next time I update one of my older lenses. Thanks Squidoo!

I love this new module. Like everyone else, now I have to think of a way to use it. The step by step way this module was used in the Pink Pickled Eggs lens is fantastic.

Susan, thanks so much for sharing this new module. I almost never browse the modules, so I often miss new ones. You've done a great job with it on your lens too! I love seeing a new module in action before trying it out myself.

I can't get it to work ![]()
I've tried uploading pics, all under 1MB, all GIF's of the same size (300 x 225) but when I click "Upload" nothing happens ![]()
Have submitted a bug report...but while I wait for a reply, I just wondered - am I being stoopid and missing something obvious, or has anyone else had probs?

Good to know that !
. Thanks for bringing that to the public.
