Back by popular demand, the new Potential Giant challenge for the March 31st deadline is now officially on.

The rules:

Anyone interested in becoming a Giant Squid lensmaster or a new member of the 100 Club is eligible and asked to keep track of their progress and lens count here, in this thread. That's it!

Keeping track means that you check in here from time to time. Dropping in with a single post will not count. We want to see numbers, and or comments, and some serious cheerleading going on in here.

The goal is to help and encourage each other on the road to Giant Squid status.

The Prize:

Every lensmaster who keeps track of their progress on this thread AND becomes a Giant or 100 Club member on March 31, 2009 will get a lens of their choice featured at the Giant Squid Community Showcase blog.

Well I am happy and thrilled to kick this off. My name is Susan and I am going for giant squid. I have 31 lenses so far. But I feel only about 25 of them are up to snuff. I have been working very hard on turning them all into master pieces keeping in mind the time limit. I feel confident I can get there. I really would like to achieve this accomplishment. I think this is the most amazing community and I have already felt the warmth from it. Thanks everyone who has encouraged me already. I am anxious and willing to be there for all of you too.

I didn't know about this thread on the last Giant run until the very last minute! Hoping to make it this time around, though. I've been having fun with the new Twitterstorm format; I made four yesterday and five today. They are so quick and fun to make! My latest lens What's Your Favorite Cuppa? is number *60* for me, I'm very excited!

Hi, I'm Crystal ( luvmyludwig) and I'm going for Giant Squid. I've only been on squidoo for around a week ( give or take) I have 9 lenses so far. My latest is

Well, well... girls again! What's with boys here?!?!? Disappeared?

OK, I'm in for 100 club.... Only 34 to make in less than 70 days! Hmmmm... that's 1 in two days for next 70 days? Wow! LOL
Never mind! I bet I can do it!

PS. Who needs to sleep? It's only 70 days, right??

lol that's too funny! I was thinking the same --I have to do 41 ( at least ) in less than 70 days. Must drink coffee, lot's of coffee.......

Hello

I'm also going for the 100 club, I have over 100 lenses already, but I need to polish them up (and in a couple of cases totally redo them!). I have just polished up my Making Butter lens, so I've started! I have set myself a personal goal of 150 quality lenses by 31st March, so let's see how we go.

Okay my stats - I have 133 featured lenses with 28 that need updating/polishing (18 of these are very basic lyric lenses so really need to be redone). I also have 4 WIPs that I need to finish. Actually scratch that only 27 to update now!

"I am woman hear me roar" seems appropriate right now

Hee Hee! I think I'm glad I didn't make Giant last round, or I'd be killing myself to make 50 lenses in order to make Giant 100 this round! Now hopefully I'll be already nearly to 100 by the time I make Giant, and won't have to give up sleep to make the Giant 100 in the next round! ... maybe ... ;-)

Good luck everyone with meeting your goals! I think I'm going to hold off for a while on getting to 100 lenses. I'm going to do some refining on my old ones. I love having my profile featured on the home page, I've already seen it twice!

First thing I spotted is that 'New Table of Contents' title! Girl, you gotta change all the default titles ASAP! That's a big NO-NO on Giant lenses!
Second, when you pull up things in Amazon module, make sure to add those that you can personally recoment or those that have good review by other customers! Go to second tab on edit mode and check 'rank' so that stars would show up on item! PS. People are more likely to purchase items with great reviews!

Well I guess I am in here too. I got 98 done going for the 100 club, plan on have 150 by the end of March. Lets go gang those going for giant you can do it.

I can see we have a great group in here! Lots of great lensmasters up for the challenge and I like that you are helping each other with tips and advice! You guys are great! Keep up the good work and there's plenty of time left to join the challenge so if you're thinking about it, join in!

I've got 25 lenses so far and some big plans if I can just find the time. When my mother goes to respite care for a week again I'll spend half the time on my book and the other half on lenses I reckon. I think my tribaldancer lenses will probably be of a lot more interest since I'm not just describing health products like I have to do on my work account. My lensography is at http://www.squidoo.com/tribaldancer and my latest is The First 25 Years of WrestleMania. More ALS lenses are coming as well as one on my cousin's journey with Cystic Fibrosis (hopefully) and LifeStyles, the place here that allows my brother to live a mostly normal life.
