2. Spam: just don't do it. Thou also shalt not fill the forums with multiple threads on the same topic or sockpuppet.
3. Thou shalt not flame, harass, denigrate, spam, malign, or otherwise finger-point and name-call at ANYONE. This one's a biggy. This too can get you banned.
4. Squidstaff love interacting with smart front-line people, so they stop by the forums from time to time to hear your ideas and share updates. However, this isn't the place to post bugs or solicit admin action. Please send those requests through our feedback link.
5. The SquidU forum is a place for users to interact, to share ideas and inspiration (and yes, gripes... maybe another lensmaster can help) and have fun with their lenses. Try searching for an answer or visiting The Answer Deck.

When I was setting up my squidoo stuff, I put in a user name that I thought was just for login purposes. I want to change it, but when I go to my bio/profile page and try to change it, I am unable to change the user name. Help! Anyone know what I can do?

The only thing you can do is sign up again, with the user name you really want.
If you have lenses already with your current account, you can transfer them over to the new account..........then you can delete the old account.

Wow. I have to say a lot of things about Squidoo are cumbersome. I would think they would make it clear just what the User Name is...and how important it is to make sure it's what you want since one can't change. THANKS for your answer! I soooooo appreciate it! You're awesome!

OK, so I tried to create a new account, but it won't let me...because it's tied to the same email address. Aaargh. Someone help???

If you can't use the same e-mail address for a second account, use an alternate address. (If you don't have another e-mail address, you probably should; people often use different accounts for business, family, internet contacts, etc., and if you use Squidoo a lot, you might want one just for Squidoo!) You can modify your profile from your dashboard; either change the old account and then sign up at the new account with your preferred e-mail; or use an alternate address to sign up for a new account, then modify its profile.

Yup, sorry, usernames are permanent.
In the past, people have changed usernames with ill intents and ended up with locked and and closed accounts. Plus changing your username really goofs with the incoming links to your lensmaster bio page, etc. So usernames are now permanent.
