I suddenly have $0.17 in my kitty. How do I know which of my lenses earned this amount? Is there a way to find this?

Please guide.

I looked at the lens stats, none of them showed any money earned from anything. There is just 1 "click out" I dont know what that means.

The earnings you see are from your share of the adsense co-op earnings.

You get a 50/50 split of any clicks on the google ads displayed on your lens (attributable clickouts).

You also get a share of all the money earned from google ads displayed on pages that are not owned by lensmasters (non-attributable revenue), like the tags pages and search result pages. Like this page: http://www.squidoo.com/tags/myspace

The ads there earn money, and all the money all go into one big pool. That then gets shared between all lensmasters depending on how many lenses they have.

The more the better. And the better they are, the better!

Here are my comments:

1/ I clicked on this link - http://www.squidoo.com/tags/myspace and there was no Adsense ad at all there - I don't know why!

2/ more important - I think the statement "You get a 50/50 split of any clicks on the google ads displayed on your lens (attributable clickouts)" is incorrect in sense that it is pooled - not attributable revenue. The fact is that based on Squidoo FAQ (p. 22-23):

a/ All lensmasters with traffic get a pro-rated share in the income that we get from the Google AdSense ads that run on every page...
b/ AdSense revenue (these are the Google ads you see on every lens): This money goes into a pool, so as to avoide clickfraud. Half of the pool distributes out to lensmasters, on a PayRank scale that is based on each lens's average LensRank and traffic.

Of course, it would be much better if Adsense revenue were attributable revenue and if we knew how many clicks we got on our lenses and the value of those clicks. However, I think it's not possible to do right now as it looks there is one Adsense account for all lenses, so it has to be pooled and divided among the lenses. That division is based on LensRank (why some people say LensRank is not important?) and traffic, as the FAQ says.

1/ On that myspace tags page there are some google ads down the bottom on the right! Very hard to find ads can't be great for clickthroughs

2/ I'm confusing myself here. I meant "You get a 50/50 split of affiliate sales". I rambled on about adsense.

Of course, having more, better lenses helps, but according to FAQ (p. 23) - this money goes into a pool, so as to avoide clickfraud. Half of the pool distributes out to lensmasters, on a PayRank scale that is based on each lens's average LensRank and traffic.

In other words, it's another example of importance of LensRank, which for some reasons is being repeatedly disputed here in the Lounge by some people while the Squidoo TOS and FAQ say something else. I'm afraid it's misleading other lensmasters, especially the newcomers.

Adsense is distributed on a tiered scale (called PayRank) that gives more to more active and prolific lensmasters, less to one-off lensmasters.

I'm delighted to hear that being a prolific lensmaster with high traffic lenses gets me a better shake than one-offers of which there are so many.

I would like to have a more definite reference point for that. Got one?

It's a good balance. So people don't get too obsessed with Payrank. And realise that Payrank doesn't influence affiliate earnings.

The 'Secret' tab is where I get all my info from. It's also where you can go to type in what you want your lensrank to be. That's right. It is ME who is causing all these crazy lensrank days! Guarantees a place on the top 100 list too
