*The Forum Rules.
Yep, rules. Read 'em. Abide by 'em. Or your sea creature powers may be revoked. Temporarily, or for good.
1. New to the lounge? Get started here. Learn which category to post your note in, and create a forum signature.
2. Spam: just don't do it. Thou also shalt not fill the forums with multiple threads on the same topic or sockpuppet.
3. Thou shalt not flame, harass, denigrate, spam, malign, or otherwise finger-point and name-call at ANYONE. This one's a biggy. This too can get you banned.
4. Squidstaff love interacting with smart front-line people, so they stop by the forums from time to time to hear your ideas and share updates. However, this isn't the place to post bugs or solicit admin action. Please send those requests through our feedback link.
5. The SquidU forum is a place for users to interact, to share ideas and inspiration (and yes, gripes... maybe another lensmaster can help) and have fun with their lenses. Try searching for an answer or visiting The Answer Deck.
I would like to direct your attention to the Squidblog for today! http://blogs.squidoo.com/squidblog/2008 … -thursday/ Pay close attention to #3 in the post!
3. Squidoo Workshop 2.0 is on the way. We’ve overhauled our Workshop for editing lenses. The Angels and Giant Squid Organizers are busy testing it out for us over the next few days, and then it’s a’comin your way. Should make for smoother, faster, simpler, stabler editing of lenses.
That's right, Squidoo is rolling out a brand new workshop for us to edit our lenses! Us Angels are currently running it thru the ringer and trying to work out any major kinks! I can only tell you that it is very sweet and you are gonna love it! I do not know when Squidoo will send it out of testing, but keep your eyes open cause your gonna be thrilled!!

Blake and Josh did an amazing job on Workshop 2.0. Well done guys!

You guys are torturing us. Stop it!
Can't wait.

I can hardly wait! I have other stuff to do besides lensmaking over the next few days, so maybe I'll be distracted enough not to get to antsy waiting for the new workshop.
Offline
It will truly be worth the wait. I love it!
There's an option to return to the old workshop. But I don't think anyone will ever be clicking on THAT.
:-)

Sounds good to me.
I think I have my lens editing down pretty good now, but you can always learn new ideas, and the best way is to share ideas.

So, when you say "couple of days"...?
I can't wait to see it.

sounds great... I am excited to see the updates and the changes. Squidoo has been great at constantly updating and changing its system. I think it is great that they listen to the lensmakers and respond! I have been really impressed with the recent updates to squidoo and squidu so I am anxious to see the new editing workshop! Yippee!

I've made two new lenses with the new workshop. Everything worked very smoothly and I will never want to go back to the old workshop again. This is a truly great improvement! Thank you so much - Blake, Josh, and Squidoo. ![]()

New toys to play with are always a great reasons to make more lenses yippee!

Now wait a minute - Just hold the phone - I don't adjust well to change and you guys are always coming up with something new and better. I guess this old dog is going to have to adjust and learn the new tricks.

I'd suggest starting a test lens with the new workshop when it's available and messing around with it until you feel comfortable. Meanwhile, if you have to do stuff with existing lenses or really need to start a new lens, they're saying there's the option to use the old workshop.

Thanks, MobyD. Sounds like good advice!

OhMe (and everyone else) - I promise you this new workshop does NOT have a learning curve. You open the window and your lower jar drops down on the top of your knee caps.
Everything is quicker and easier. 'Nuff said - I'm sworn to secrecy while we're still testing. (I'd hate it if HQ sent me to SquidAngel purgatory...) ![]()

Chefkeem, I will scratch that from my "worry" list. Didn't have room for it anyway. lol I will look forward to it with an open mind!

You guys I really hate teasers. I like nice new shiny toys ![]()

Thanks, all. I really like the new workshop and I hope you will, too. Blake and I work really well together, but we're not the only ones with a hand in this. The entire team is responsible. ;-)

That's exciting news. I've lost a few paragraphs with the current workshop being buggy. LOL
I can't wait! :-)
