We have lost a Squidoo lensmaster

I was just notified that ebay grandma, Pam, passed away last night.  I knew some of her friends here would want to know.

I didn't really know her very well, but that is such a shame, and just before Christmas too.

Re: We have lost a Squidoo lensmaster

She was the first member of OSI Rock Stars to earn Giant Squid status - she was so proud of that, and I was so proud of her for working hard on her Squidooing.  This is just so very very sad to hear.

Re: We have lost a Squidoo lensmaster

Her daughter said that she really liked squidooing shown by the fact that she spent a lot of time on it in the past year.  I know she did a lot of it when she wasn't feeling well, but she was very determined.   Which we all know as she became a Giant Squid.

Re: We have lost a Squidoo lensmaster

This is sad news.  I have often wondered how we/you would be notified in such a case.  We all become such good on line friends as we work together on Squidoo, and yet, we don't know enough personal information to be aware of illnesses and deaths.  Thank you for posting this.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, for sure!

Re: We have lost a Squidoo lensmaster

Pam is a friend on my yahoo IM.  I had it open this morning and that is how her daughter contacted me.  I've wondered the same thing about my online friends,  how would I know if something happened to them.  Lots of times family members aren't that aware of our online friends.  Maybe it would be good to keep a list of people to notify and how to reach them if anything happened to you.

There always seems to be a way.  I've been in communities before when there is a loss of a member.  Usually it seems that they usually have one person who is able to conveys the message like Pam's daughter had done.

Re: We have lost a Squidoo lensmaster

I've put together a list of people & email addresses that if something were to happen to me, my daughter or sister should email them and they'll spread the word to the rest of my online friends.

Re: We have lost a Squidoo lensmaster

I didn't know her, but it is sad to hear.

Last week I was on a plane from Newark to Raleigh and hit two of the worst air pockets I have ever experienced.  I thought we could go down.  And I wondered if my friends here, the ones who knew I traveled that route, would put two and two together when they heard the news of the crash.  lol

But it is an issue, people we know on line just disappearing.

Re: We have lost a Squidoo lensmaster

I had the pleasure of getting to know Pam during her run to Giant Stardom here on Squidoo. I got to spend a good deal of time getting to know her while I gave her help and tips for her squidoo pages. Plus she was a co blogger on our group blog. She was a great person who was friendly and a fast learner on squidoo stuff. She was always so positive and became a great friend. I will miss her dearly. I hope your heaven is a wonderful place Pam. Best wishes to her dear husband and family during this hard times.

Re: We have lost a Squidoo lensmaster

I am sure that the family would appreciate these posts and wondered if there was anyway to get them to her daughter.  Just a thought.
