*The Forum Rules.
Yep, rules. Read 'em. Abide by 'em. Or your sea creature powers may be revoked. Temporarily, or for good.
1. New to the lounge? Get started here. Learn which category to post your note in, and create a forum signature.
2. Spam: just don't do it. Thou also shalt not fill the forums with multiple threads on the same topic, sockpuppet, or link to irrelevant and non-Squidoo sites (includes signatures).
3. Thou shalt not flame, harass, denigrate, spam, malign, or otherwise finger-point and name-call at ANYONE. This one's a biggy. This too can get you banned.
4. Squidstaff love interacting with smart front-line people, so they stop by the forums from time to time to hear your ideas and share updates. However, this isn't the place to post bugs or solicit admin action. Please send those requests through our feedback link.
5. The SquidU forum is a place for users to interact, to share ideas and inspiration (and yes, gripes... maybe another lensmaster can help) and have fun with their lenses. Try searching for an answer or visiting The Answer Deck.
Over the past few years the number of charities Squidoo supports has grown! Some are always more popular and active and others, and we're making some changes to support that.

In addition to these changes, stay tuned over the next few weeks to learn what kind of great new system we're putting in place to help you, your favorite causes, and well earned donations match up.

Kimberly - is that why the main site has been a bit hit and miss over the last half hour or so? I've got 404 errors coming at me from every click I make ![]()

Me too.

Nope, that shouldn't have any affect on this. If a reboot and cache clearing doesn't help, I'd file a bug report for that one.
Sorry!

This was the list (of 90) that I found when I compared all of the various resources that were available as part of the Squidoo Activists.
Squidoo NonProfit Partners - http://www.squidoo.com/squidoo-nonprofit-partners There were a couple on the list that I couldn't find information for.
The Donations Module has the list of all those available to select from when using the new Donations Module.

I noticed this in the blog post.
we’re updating our nonprofit program to feature the organizations that are active, and we’re removing a small handful of the charities on our list that have disappeared into the ether.
Is there going to be a list of the handful that are disappearing, so if we have lenses set to these we can adjust them?
Thanks

Thanks for your patience - still working on getting a list for you.

This might not be the place to post this and if not, I do apologize. I just can't seem to get an answer regarding my submission of a non profit - Friends of the Park in Pendleton SC. I seem to be going in circles. Yes, I have read everything I could find about non profits and I have emailed the request with the requested information but haven't heard anything. I have asked on the Non Profit Nook and am getting frustrated. I don't know if I am supposed to be doing something or if I just need to be more patient. I sure would appreciate someone giving me some advice. Thank you.

Our Charity protocol is currently under review. We're creating a new system to encourage more activity on the part of our charities, which helps them make more money! Stay tuned for details on that.

Thank you so much.

Is it possible for UK charities to get accepted for the list? I've done a lens on Battersea Dogs & Cats Home (which has a no kill policy) and currently 100% of its income goes to the ASPCA which is a bit odd as Battersea is in the UK as am I.
I'm not opposed to helping animals in the USA, of course, I'm happy to help them and other charities no matter where the recipients are based. I just feel with a growing number of UK lensmasters it would be nice if some of our own charities were represented. I'm sure none of them will get rich from my lenses, though. :-)

As far as I know charities are not discriminated against based on location. They have to be willing to accept payments via PayPal, which has been a huge factor in the past.
We're revamping our charity protocol to include more details for how future charities can participate. More info on that within the next month.

Can you tell me if my information on Friends of the Park was previously processed or will I need to re-enter it. Thanks

ALL charity info is on hold right now. We'll start processing charities once the new protocol is set up.
Thanks for your patience.

Does that mean that the donation module will be changed to include others? I wanted to add one to my David Dye lens but NPR doesn't appear on the list. If they go away, I'll have to change all of my lenses!

I can't say I'm very happy about Squidoo erasing my preferred non-profit (Heifer International) off my lenses and replacing it with the Squidoo fund. Heifer's also been knocked off the main list but can be found in the "back list." Not very nice, guys.

I had the same problem. I'm going to have to update all of my lenses before payday or the money will go somewhere other than my intended recipient. It's not that I begrudge other charities, but the whole idea was that I choose which of them received any of my income.
