I've still got the same $1.82. I make people smile, but they don't make me rich...at least, not in money. Come to think of it, I'm a little short on chocolate too.

If you include the clickbank sales I'm making from my lens visitors, yes. I use clickbank and one other affiliate program and the squidoo modules for anything on amazon, ebay etc.
Let me know what you think of my newest lens www.squidoo.com/1000000
It's got a screenshot on there ![]()

$4.70 here
I thought it would be a bit more cause my cookie lens spent a good chunk of december in the top 100. Not that I sold anything from my mods on that lens til january but I figured my adsense share would be up. Maybe I misunderstand how the google money is divied up.

Good point. I made another $20 from outside affiliate sales via my Squidoo lenses. So that brings up close to $50 for the past month. Not ready to quit my day job, but getting closer every day. ![]()

Here's what Squidoo says about AdSense monies:
AdSense revenue (these are the Google ads you see on every lens): This money goes into a pool, so as to avoide clickfraud. Half of the pool distributes out to lensmasters, on a PayRank scale that is based on a lensmaster's average LensRank and traffic.
The way I read it, one high ranking or high traffic lens won't have a noticeable effect across a group of lenses.
Looking at your highest ranking lens now, it's in the 200s. Your lowest is down in the 24,000s. If you had lenses that dropped in traffic and/or rank during December, they might have off-set whatever gains your cookie lens was making during that same time period.

Between Squidoo eBook sales going to http://www.socialmarketing101.com and affiliate sales, especially to my web2secrets interview, I made a ont more. Squidoo is awesome!

I made my first 44 cents.
I also made a couple of other milestones: two lenses in the top 1,000 and I'm showing traffic at all my lenses.

Whew, thanks for Maurreen - here I thought that despite have a highly ranked and well trafficed lens and 3 that have had sales at one pt or the other - that my 1.51 was the lowest of anyone.
That said, why in the back of my brain do I sense that 1,000's are like Maurreen - or - do they just feel embarrassed to say 0.00 again? I wonder.
Finally, Relache --- excellent pts. It hardly seems fair that the google ad sense clicks on a highly rated lens get washed away by the `average lens rank' of all lenses -- is that common sense?

I didn't invent PayRank, I just try and see what happens and work with that.
I work way more on boosting my lowest ranking lenses than I do trying to drive a high-ranking one further. Why? Because Squidoo has made it clear that they work with an average lensrank generated based on how many lenses I have and where they all rank.
I suppose I could argue with the big Squids about their methods, like some people seem to be inclined to, but really, it's a lot easier on my end to just sit down for a half hour and do more research on my lowest ranking lens and improve it.
Also, Rick, I don't think that a lens making it to a high-rank means that a lot of people will click on the ads. I think it increases the potential but offers no guarantees. Just from what I know from my personal web site and AdSense, it's one thing to show a lot of ads and another entirely to get a lot of clicks.

That's good to know. Thanks Rae. I've been doing the opposite - working hard on the lenses that are doing well in the hope that I can push them just that little bit further up the lensrank. One of my new Valentine's lenses got into the 200's recently - yay!
I have a bunch of lenses I created with the intention of developing them properly, but I then lost interest and they're sitting there at the bottom of the pile feeling sorry for themselves. Two of them are unpublished. I'm guessing these are affecting my overall performance. Mmm - will have to do some work on these now ;-)
I made $3.33 this round.

In case you don't know (I'm speaking to the people who... don't know) the money you got today was for what happened in December.
So if you started last month, you won't see anything until next month. And in all likelihood given no traffic, few lenses, and other contributing factors you might not see even a trickle for a little while yet. It depends on experience and knowing how to get eyeballs to your lenses.
You can't do anything about Ad Clicking. That's up to the visitor to decide (it's against Google's ToS to draw undue attention to the ads. So that means you can't say please click, refer to the prescence of the ads, or even tell people NOT to click).
All you can do is make sure your lens/es are the best you can make them, and explore means in which to promote them. Or in fact promote other peoples. If you find a great lens refer it to a friend. Because they might then stick around longer, and who knows, they might end up at yours. But they're at Squidoo and once they see what a fantastic resource it is they'll bookmark and come back again.

Actually, that's not how it works. We go lens by lens, analyzing its average lensrank over the course of the month, and then compare it to the average lensrank of all other lenses. Then we distribute a portion of the earnings to that lens based on its performance. We do that for each of a lensmaster's lenses, and add it up to get the total amount earned by the lensmaster during the pay period.
We'll edit the FAQ to make that a bit more clear. Sorry guys.

Wow, that is really different from what the original FAQ seems to imply.
Thanks for the clarification!

Nope. You have to figure out a way of determining what all your retail was and then subtract that to figure out what you made AdSense-wise
Across a large group of lenses, it gets sort of.... interesting.... but it can be done.
