Spotlight on New Lensmasters
Tuesday, July 6th, 2010Hello lensmasters!
This spring we contacted a few new lensmasters and asked them what they loved most about Squidoo. It wasn’t hard to get feedback; their comments poured in!
Today we’re sharing feedback from three new lensmasters. TheBurgerKing is the author of The Best Collection of Hamburger Recipes & Burger Adventures Online, Michael-Legge started his Squidoo adventure with Easy Pot Roast Recipe for Your Crock Pot, and kajohu has delighted us with over 20 new lenses in the last six months, including Backyard Birding.
Here’s what they had to say about joining Squidoo:

Squidoo: How did you find out about Squidoo?
TheBurgerKing: First off let me say I love the site. It’s so easy to use and very interesting thus far. I kinda just stumbled across Squidoo through Digg, and after reading up on it, I was pretty much hooked. I’ve been looking for a medium online that would allow me to talk about the subjects I was interested in with the possibility of monetizing from it, and Squidoo is perfect!
Kajohu: I found out about Squidoo while searching for ways to make money writing online. It took me a few months of reviewing different online options, and as you see, I finally ended up here. I like the creative options available to us for putting together our lenses.
Michael-Legge: I found out about Squidoo while I was doing some research for my website. I was a little intrigued so I started reading some lenses… I was hooked at this point.

Squidoo: So far, it sounds like we have three very addicted newbies! Which passions are you sharing on Squidoo?
Michael-Legge: I started out with a crock pot recipe lens as this was related to my website and is one of my passions but once I read some more lenses I thought Squidoo would be a great place to share a few things that I am concerned and passionate about, such as our environment. I am a fairly recent new grandfather (grandson is now 2 1/2 years old) and when he was born it put a new sense of urgency into ideas I had about helping reduce our impact on the environment. My wife and I both love the outdoors and want our grandson to be able to enjoy and appreciate the gifts that are our planet.
Kajohu: My first three lenses were about yoga. Probably most of my lenses will be about some aspect of yoga, since this is my biggest passion.
TheBurgerKing: I’m currently sharing my passion for food more specifically BURGERS why? I mean who doesn’t like a good burger? Plus I think it’s the only food I’d wanna bring to a deserted island.

Squidoo: New lensmasters who are excited AND have powerful passions! How are you sharing your lenses with others and spreading your ideas?
Kajohu: So far the most effective way to share my lenses seems to be through SquidU and through commenting on other lenses that I like. I’m trying to reciprocate, by leaving feedback for the people who have visited and critiqued my lenses.
Michael-Legge: I am promoting my lenses mostly through my website I am not as proficient at keywords and SEO as I would like to be but I am working on it.
TheBurgerKing: I’m sharing my lens by linking it with my Twitter account and posting it on Facebook. I’m using the power of social media to fuel my page, and I’m keeping up by reviewing lenses and commenting on them.
