How Freaknoodles Got Her Pajamas On
Today we have a quicky interview with Colleen "Freaknoodles," an eBay and Squidoo lensmaster genius.
Inquiring Minds: Colleen, tell us about how Squidoo has affected your eBay business:
Colleen: I have been having a great time with Squidoo over the last few months, and it has been a huge success for my eBay business. I started my store-related lenses with the hopes of driving some extra traffic and making an additional sale here and there. Instead, I have been shocked to see that 20% of my total store traffic in April and May came from Squidoo.
IM: How have you designed your lenses to push traffic to your auctions?
Colleen: I have a lens for each of my two main product lines, Nick & Nora pajamas and Winsor Pilates DVDs. There are lots of ways to get your products out there to be seen, but what I love about Squidoo is how easy it is to make any topic more fun and interesting. On my Nick & Nora lens, I have links to my store and detailed descriptions of all the pajama patterns I carry, but I also have a poll to vote for your favorite pattern, a guestbook for readers to leave comments, and a YouTube video of the "dancing baby" scene from Ally McBeal, where Ally is wearing Nick & Nora pajamas.
IM: What do you think about the traffic Squidoo lenses bring in?
Colleen: The high Google search rankings you can get with a Squidoo lens bring in the traffic, but I think it's the versatility and variety of the modules that make those searchers hang around longer, which of course makes them more likely to click through to my store and buy something.
