The Introduction: Your First Impression
If your bio is where you introduce yourself to readers, the introduction module is where you introduce your lens. Here are some ideas for making a good first impression:
- Be Brief: Think of your introduction module as a lens's thesis statement. Don't write too much -- that can make for a daunting first impression and pushes your core content modules too far down the lens.
- Be Helpful: Why is the topic of the lens important to you? To others? What can people expect from the lens? What do you hope to accomplish with it?
- Be Visual: Uploading a photo in the introduction module can really help the visual impact of your lens. So can the tasteful inclusion of light text formatting: bold and italics. Also consider several shorter paragraphs rather than one paragraph -- play with how you can format your introduction.
