How do we use your email?
When you sign up for Squidoo, you're required to supply us with your email address. We know that over the years it's become a sticky issue to give out your email address to people you don't know. Here is a list of ways we will, and won't, use your email address.
We'll use it to confirm your account.
Shortly after you sign up for a Squidoo account you'll receive an email with a link. You can confirm your account by clicking on the link. All set!
We'll use it to send newsletters you subscribe to.
You can choose which newsletters to receive and change your subscriptions at any time. If you are signed up for any of these, they'll go to your account email.
We'll use it to pass along notes from lensmasters if you approve it.
Each lensmaster can choose whether or not they would like other lensmasters to have the option to contact them through their lenses. You can toggle this on and off in the My Profile tab of your dashboard, on the line that reads "Allow contact?" When another user sends you a message, it goes through our system to your email. They won't actually see your email address. However, if you reply to them, they will see your address. You can choose on your own whether to reply via email, or send a message though one of their lenses.
We'll use it to notify you of dynamic changes to your lenses and groups.
There are a lot of cool things you can do with lenses and groups that allow others to leave feedback or make changes, as with Plexo modules. Here are some situations where you may choose in your preferences for each module to be notified by email of a change:
1. In the guestbook module, to be notified of a new comment.
2. In the Plexo modules, to be notified of new submissions.
3. In the group admin section, to be notified of new lenses for the group.
